It's all about how you release the clutch. If you just let off it at 4k of course it's gonna either spin or break something. Gotta drag the clutch so you can give the suspension a chance to work and load the drive train some so you don't snap the rear or driveshaft.

Also has a lot to do with what other cars are running that day. If it's just street tires, no ones gonna hook. If there are a good amount of slick cars there and the starting line is prepped well, you won't be able to spin if you wanted to. That's how the last 3 sat and Sundays have been at island. I was leaving at 4-4500 and could barely keep from bogging down it hooked so nicely.
