i just did my bird recently, i was able to remove all the screws and get the core out by just removing the underdash panel on the passengerside, i dont have a computer, but you may have to drop that to get a little more room.

It tight in there, a 1/4" ratchet will come in handy

Just make sure you get all the screws out before you try to pull the box apart and break things, like whoever replaced mine back before i bought it....
