I used the 3M Clearcoat Compound and a hand-held foam pad. If you're feeling brave, you could wetsand it with some 2000 grit sandpaper first, then hit it with the compound, then the polish. Try just the compound first, I think you'll be impressed. I had a lot of fine scratches on my gauge lens and also on the long black dashboard trim in the Monte, and it removed 99% of them. Good luck!
