3rd gen cores are child's play. You can get it out from under the RH side of the dash. Maybe pull the pass seat out just to make access easier. If you have access to compressed air, maybe blow out the core before you take it out just to minimize fluid loss in the car.
Now, a 2nd gen, well, that sucks eggs. And IIRC a fox body mustang is a terrible h/c to do as well.
