QFT. what is it these days? it's like they know everything and you know nothing...
anyway, if it's someone i care about i try to educate them. that might be in finding my source in a book, magazine or online. sometimes multiple sources are needed to satisfy some people.
while i was selling cars, a shirt-tailed relative called me out of the blue and asked me what her car was worth. since the #1 used car buyer was sitting right next to me, i put her on hold and asked him what he thought. he gave me a number. when i picked the phone back up and told her the number, she said "are you sure you know what you are doing?" apparently, she went to trade her car in and the guy low-balled her trade-in just to see what he could get her to fall for. i told her to stop the proceedings immediately and head on over to my place of employment. she hung up and finished the deal there, accepting his low-ball and thinking i was out of my mind, even after i told her i talked with the buyer personally and he would write a check for the amount he told me, all she had to do was show up. she didn't even need to buy a car there, since the used car buyer is not an employee of the dealership.
she ended up being out almost $8,000, between the raping on her trade-in and the car she bought. i said nothing more to her about it, since she was happily drifting on the ether of a new car... after all, it's only money.
