1K for first bike? Now I don't jump in with all the hype that people need to start with a 250 and move up...or even a 600. If you've got a level head you can handle bigger stuff. But 1K is extreme, and tough to get experienced on. I wish him luck though. Maybe he's cool and has no prob. You know him so I'm sure you wouldn't steer him wrong. I like 1K.
