Sounds like the whole rain thing may be a coincidence and you have a solenoid sticking. Could truly be any number of things, though. If it doesn't happen again then forget about the whole episode. If it starts happening more frequently then it should set the check engine light and be fairly easy to diagnose from there. Good luck in any circumstance.
