Big Al was in Aruba.
I leave for Aruba, and now GM wants to put a split window on the C7 Corvette, and made a 4300lbs Camaro Z28.

Ponder this boys and girls...there is a very good chance that the upcoming CTS-V coupe (there is a V-wagon approved too) will weigh LESS then the Camaro "Z28".
CTS-V sedan comes in at 4200lbs give or take.
Camaro SS is a shade under 3900lbs.

So instead of making a Camaro Z06, they are making a Camaro GT500. Great.

There are no plans on making the Corvette a hybrid. It would be easy, and at this point there will probably be some sort of mild hybrid system planned for ever car from here till the end of the combustion engine.
Porshce and Ferrari are both are developing performance hybrid systems for thier cars.
The next S class is rumored to be a full hybrid only.
BMW is using the GM-Developed Two-Mode system to boost performance and MPG from its new Twin Turbo V8 engine that is already in production for the X6, the 750i, and 550i GT. This is the same V8TT that will replace the big V10 in the M5. Possible that a two-mode hyrbid system could boost the output of the upcoming M5 from the 530 rumored power to near 600 when needed.

For GM's sake, for the sake of trying to return to the image of a company of innovation, a hybrid performance Corvette would be revolutionary.
