No, the only reasoning that came out of Fritz's mouth was that he did not want to sell a rebadge.
The argument is almost as bad as them not bringing Zeta here becaue "it wouldnt work well with CAFE" as that reasoning has also gone by the wayside.

My beloved unions? Are you kidding me? I dont love the union at all.
The idea is that he didnt want to take a car from a dead company and give it to a company that is still part of GM. Yes I know thats a weak excuse, but that was said today by Brent Dewar, VP of Chevy now.
The UAW doesnt want imported cars sold retail wise. Im sure that its a major reason why we wont see a civilian version. But this car is coming here because there will be a giant void in solid police vehicles, and the Charger nor Impala are apparently cutting it. The Caprice will not replace the Impala for the police, but be part of Chevy's offerings along with the Tahoe.
