Dude, I'm a fairly broad guy, not too tall (5'11) but i'm 240. I was told a year ago by a nutristionist my sister was seeing that i should be taking in at least 3000 calories to maintain weight. Now i'm on a crew team, work out everyday and eat the same, i started dropping weight finally and still can't run well. The weight you put on your knees is bad, unless your really tall 320 lbs is now running condition. I have a friend whose 6'3 and 330 and he works out a good bit, but knows he really can't run much because it will ruin his knees. My advise is do low impact exercises for your body such as biking alot, aka, bike to asbury park, then up or down the coast and back, or go swimming, at least a solid hour per session. I swam for 12 years competitively and it is honestly one of the best workouts you can do, i haven't swam in a year, and its noticable when you get back in. Legs aren't as strong, backs not as strong. Bottom line is running is great but for bigger people its not good for your body, slim down and build more muscle before putting that kind of impact on your knees.

Also if your eating 5 meals a day, and only eating 1500 calories, thats 300 per meal so that's a glass of milk and like three pieces of meat with a slice of bread. Dude i doubt your daily intake is that low, i take in close to 1000 calories daily in fluids alone between Gatorade, milk, apple juice and the occasional soda. Just saying if you are that low its no bueno man.

Sorry if it came out harsh, but it was meant to be helpful, and comes from experience with weight man. Just trying to help you out.
