^^ yea thats really all you can do... they make some good bumper/plastic repair kits out there... there is a company called SEM (they do autobody supplies) they make a 2part product called "problem plastic repair" and if you use that with some of their fiber roll that is really just a peice of a plastic like fabric that you squeeze onto the glue to add some strength it works great... i swear by it at work for bumper repairs... and its sandable to so you use it for the outer parts if you are doing finishing work.... what ever you get just make sure its plastic compatible...
