Im not sure if thats true for aluminum shafts. Might be, i haven't done them with my LS1 shafts yet. But, on my thirdgen 1LE shaft, there wasn't.
I had a problem on my buddies surburban's shafts with my propane torch not being hot enough. I had to take them to work and use oxy/Acetylene torch. Just be careful because the grease can make the caps explode/blow off if you get them too hot.
You just need to swap to a 1350 U joint for the 9 inch? Correct?
