He wasn't playing the pass, he was doing what he was supposed to do on a bad angle and a player rushing down the side, you hug the post, take the short side completely out of the equation, again it just found a way through, it was able to sneak through him. With Kane's speed there was a good chance he was going to slide around the other side of the net, you have to take that into account. Had Leighton then missed a wrap around on the other side people would have have bitched about that.
He just flat out didn't get down in time, that's pretty much it. He was in position to make the save, he just didn't.

He could have and should have at least kept his stick on the ice while hugging the post and just sticked the puck to the boards!! Its the Stanley cup Finals! Its either win or go home. Its not a regular season game. You can not give up a goal like that! You just cant! He knows it. If he would have made that simple routine stop then the Flyers more then likely would have won the game!
This is up there with the Mitch Williams pitch to Joe Carter!!
