As I said, I admit freely that I know guys who will talk about the Jeep being the greatest off road vehicle bar none, but I know way more that are gearheads at heart and can appreciate anything that someone puts work into. I also know plenty of people who will talk about their Corvettes, or Hondas, or Dodge Chargers or whatever else as if it's the end all be all of automotive perfection. It's not unique to Jeeps.

Your attitude towards wheeling is spot on, but did someone with a Jeep do something horrible to you when you were a child or something?

LOL @ The last question.

No its just that when I started wheeling I was never against other brands. My friend was a dodge guy, he had a w150 pick up he built. My other friend was a Toyota guy, other friend was a Samurai guy etc etc. Everybody in town had something different and we all just went out and enjoyed it. There never really was any "Bah dodge piece of ****" or "Stupid ford garbage" other than the regular kidding if someone broke something or there was an inherent problem to a certain make that slowed us down.

I'd say what really got me bent about the jeeps rule kinda guys is that when I really really built built my second truck it was a k15 fullsize and the jeep guys love to break balls to no end about fullsize trucks not being able to go anywhere blah blah blah. Then a bunch of the same guys decided one day it would be a good idea to upgrade from those puny d30/d35 axles and get 3/4ton chevy or ford stuff and they took their "compact little trail machines" and made them just as damn wide as my fullsize but refused to admit it.

Its guys like that in combination with those guys that think jeeps are great and then drive down fire roads and say how hardcore the wheeling trip they were just on was

My girlfriends brother is a perfect example. Hes got Cherokee on 30x9.5 goodyear MTRs. Its a nice little rig no argument there. When I told him I was into wheeling he was like ah cool what do you have a wrangler? I was like ugh no I have an 87 K15 Chevy and he was immediately all like "O well where the hell are you gonna go in that big piece of ****" Then I brought my truck up by him and preceded to walk all over trails he couldnt even get in and go through all the tight spots he said I wouldnt fit and his attitude suddenly changed. Plus hes one of "those" guys that has Jeep lighters, duffel bags, socks, driving gloves, spatula, salad tongs, and toilet paper.
