Supercar is such a widely used term today, it's starting to lose it's meaning. It used to mean that it is the pinnacle of that manufacturer's efforts in showing their latest technology, with statistics to back it up. Sorry, but IMO, if it didnt come from the manufacturer with the intent of being a supercar, it is not. It is a tuned car, it is a fast car, but supercar it is not.

Jaguar XJ220 - Supercar
Mercedes Benz CLK GTR - Supercar
Mustang tuned by the USAF - Super pony car
Challanger - Too fat to EVER be a supercar.
