Matt, the delay you see in the typing is do to the phone having to reformat the text into the sites code. Having a mobile frame version of the site will do nothing to help that. Its the browser thats built in to the OS of the phone. The droid x howver doesnt seem to have this problem do to the faster processor and Im sure it will see even less of an impact once firmware 2.2 is released and the phone gets flash support.
