sounds like it's a Carbon/Fiberglass/Resin hood. None the less, if there's a clear coat, take it off, wet sand it, and have it recoated, or just have it painted. even better, is you can do the F40 paint job, have one thin coat applied so you can still see the Carbon fiber weave and yet hide the yellowing of the resin.
