Updates

Hotel reservations are running ahead of last year and the hotel is already more than half full for Friday night so you might want to book now if you plan to stay at the official show hotel Fairfield Inn and Suites of Malta / Saratoga. See below / quick links / show flyer/hotel and click the link then at the download page click hotel/motel info.

Some participants come to Saratoga and camp at Sacandaga Lake or Lake George. This year, the Albany-Saratoga Speedway has invited us camp out at the Speedway lot. And better yet, you can camp for free. What? That is right, you can Camp For Free! And if you are pulling a Car Hauler, you can leave your rig in the lot for the weekend for free! If you camp in your rig, we ask you to stay in a group with the other Firebird Campers and help watch the rigs and cars. If you would like to camp at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway, please contact me for more info.

The New York State Police have committed to escorting our All Firebird Cruise on July 8, 2011 at 5pm from the SPA State Park paved lot adjacent to the Saratoga Auto Museum and down Route 9 to the Albany-Saratoga Speedway. We need to give them a car count in advance so I am asking all Firebird participants that want to be a part of the All Firebird Cruise to Albany-Saratoga Speedway to please pre-register for the Cruise. You can send a $10 check or money order payable to Firebird Nation of North America, Inc. and mail to: Sandra Smith, 2 Eureka Drive, Saratoga Springs NY, 12866-9031. Reference: 2011 Cruise in the memo line OR you can pre-register online with PayPal. See more info below. We need to give them a car count well in advance to the event.

-- The 2011 9th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show will be held at Albany-Saratoga Speedway www.albany-saratogaspeedway.com/ in Malta, New York. The new location is conveniently located on US Route 9 just 1.7 miles north of the official show hotel Fairfield Inn & Suites. Albany-Saratoga Speedway allows for controlled access, much future show growth and can accommodate 500+ Firebirds with room for additional vendors & activities. Controlled access means we no longer have to be concerned with bicycles, dogs on leashes, unescorted children, etc. and we are no longer subject to stringent noise and other regulations required by the NYS Parks commission. Plus there are convenient restrooms and Speedway concessions right on the show field. DJ Andy Narzynski and www.photowheels.com will be back for 2011.

The 9th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show will run concurrently with the Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club (AMEC) Autocross to be held out on the track during our car shows. If you are unfamiliar with these folks, here is a link http://www.cvra.com/special-AUTOX-DRIFT.htm If you would like to also participate in the Autocross event, we will make special arrangements to judge your car before you take to the track in order to give you maximum points for your detailing efforts and not make you clean your car when you come back to the show from the track. There are classes for stock and modified cars in small block and V8 classes. If you would like to be a part of the AMEC Autocross, contact Dave Burnham at racing48@nycap.rr.com for more details. Cost to participate in the AMEC Autocross will be in addition to car show registration.
