LT1/LS1 thing was just to give some color to the "domestic" scene from the same time period as some of the cars you mentioned.
Honest Answer: I don't really like Japanese sports cars. Although, I'd love to have a TT Supra, or an NSX, but it wouldn't be left stock either, not for long anyways.
Another honest answer: If someone dangled two set of keys from an LFA and a ZR1, I would pick the uglier LFA, provided there was no cost to me. I just like the fact it's more rare (and that I could sell it and buy a Ford GT and a Ferrari)
There might be some that disagree with me, but we all know that I'm ok with that.

Yeah, I was unclear really about the speed vs. price and the other cars in it's class. Even the TT Supra and 300ZX could get up and go- but not really compared to other comparible vehicles. I guess I should have said the asain offerings in each class were not really "wow-ing" to me. Based on my limited knowledge of the car I can say that the LFA is certainly "fast and fun" but not as much as it should be for the price. I would do the same as you if presented with the LFA vs ZR1, actually. Take it and sell it, or take it because of some of the technological features on it- not because it's a top performer.
Does that make sense?
