I think though comparing a 200hp 2800lbs 2+2 mild mannered sports car to the likes of cars such as the NSX ( first production car to use Titanium connecting rods, and was tuned to the likings of Ayrton Senna) Supra TT ( handles boat loads of power in stock bottom end) S2000 ( 50:50 weight distribution, and was normally compared to Porsche Boxter numbers without the Porsche Boxter price tag) and so on is comparing apples to oranges. I would catagorize this car more towards the Mazda Speed series and/or the Hyundai Genesis 2.0T. I think bang for your buck, you could squeeze maybe 240-260 after some mods, and it would make for a nice track day car. I certainly wouldn't compare it to a Miata, S2000, or another evenly weight distributed car until I see some numbers, but I doubt Toyota will be aiming to make this the next NASA or SCCA barn stormer if they may be targeting the younger crowd.
