Supposedly they have plans for two more movies (making a total of 7), but not sure how they will fit into the timeline - whether they will take place before or after Tokyo Drift.

oh so it is like a star wars saga then, oh i see now in the second movie when they were racing for the coll cars and won (even though there cars were slower) the camaro and dodge. they jumped into hyper space.
