YOU ARE CORRECT! One of the only GOOD things GM did with the C4 other then the D44 rear.
Those L98's were rated somewhere around 340tq... 0-40mph feels just as quick as MOST sports cars. They are torque'y motors and you cant kill em.

( Oh yeah and getting out of them is a PITA but you get used to it
