TBI motor is a better bet than a 5.3 or TPI in any heavier application.

The TBI year trucks came with swirl port heads which didn't flow worth crap.
My old man had a 87 K10 with 4.10's, bored .030", flat tops, hand ported swirl ports, and a mild cam. In 4wd on 33" all terrains it could brake stand. That truck used to give 3rd gen f-bodies a run for their money lol.
