Which DSLR are you using, I know the 5DMkII's require a firmware update to run wireless Lav's, but may have been fixed with some of the newer cameras. At work we haven't really used the wireless Lav's, but we carry them as back ups just in case. Shot gun mikes require an adapter, where as the Lav is a direct plug in. I'll check tomorrow what brand I use at work.
