it depends on what area i am in and what stations are available. other than the FM receiver in the car, the best i can do is play a tape, and most of my tapes are crispy.

sometimes i get the urge to hear oldies, like '50s rock 'n' roll, or '60s and '70s hard/acid/heavy metal/progressive. the '80s basically sucked for music overall, but there are some nice gems among the rough. i probably cannot name any 'good' song from the '90s if pressed, but i am sure i listen to it on the radio anyway.

i like good, hard, crunchy guitar riffs, like Joe Satriani, Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth; rock bottom bass like Sting, Geddy Lee, Stuart Hamm, Chris Squire and Les Claypool; good beats as exemplified by Bonzo, Neil Peart, Charlie Rich; and cool, rhythmic stylings like Janis Joplin, Roberta Flack, Robert Plant.

it's not really down to a song, more like a feeling. and there are lots of artists that are good at creating that feeling for me.

best all time driving song? Radar Love by Golden Earring
