Actually, I appreciate that Sutter did that. I liked Opie's character a lot, and thought he'd end up sitting at the top of the table with Jax or something of the sort, but I like twists and the unexpected. Great move, on Sutter's part, in my opinion--Opie gets to "be with his dad," he knows his kid's are safe, gets to help change the club, gets out of the club, shows Jax he still his best friend--it makes sense from so many angles, but obviously isn't what I thought we'd be seeing.
For a moment, I was hoping that Jax would strangle Pope the 2nd time they met in the warden's office. It makes sense that he didn't, as they need to get out, but still a little disappointed when he said he said he would work with Pope.
