Just sold for $50,600 including buyer commission. Make that a 1st gen and it might double that. Yet the build costs the same. I'm not sure they covered build cost here

That thing is a jalopy (considering the $50k price tag). They made money hand over fist on that car. Look closely at the photos.

* Is the shut off simply just sticking through the rear panel? Isn't that how "regular" guys do in it, not professional high end shops?

* Not for nuthin', but that exhaust looks awfully low, like way low.

Photo #3
*Firewall isn't filled or smoothed.

*Stock front subframe (really on a $50k build?)

*I see mismatched A/N fittings, some red/blue some silver/black

* I see garden variety hardware and hardware store variety rubber lined adel clamp holding the wire loom to the firewall. Why do I even see the wire loom?

*I don't see any sort of crazy one-off craftsmanship under the hood. I do see a lot of bolt on parts.

*Where's the A/C compressor?

Photo #4

* I don't see any A/C vents either or controls? Isn't pro touring all about keeping the creature comforts?

* Again, all bolt on parts. Nothing that didn't come out of a catalog. Roll bar padding with zip-ties? I bet the seat mounts just go down through the sheet metal floor and aren't tied into the cage structure at all? The cage does look to be tucked away pretty good though, at least in the dash area.

* I bet the dome light doesn't work to well without the jamb switch installed

* Factory two piece carpet? No custom interior work here, again straight out of a book

* Which page of the Grant catalog did the wheel come from?

*Is it me, or is there not even a tilt wheel in the thing? Wouldn't that make getting into and out of the car a bunch easier?

Photo #5

* Don't the front/rear breakes look like factory pieces, maybe a C5 caliper, but still factory brakes? Guess a "real" brake kit wasn't in the budget?

* Please tell me that's not a piece of Moroso aluminum fuel line running along the driver side frame rail? Please........

How come I don't see a trunk shot or undercarriage shots? I think if you really got up on this car it would be clear why it went for only $50k. I'd be pissed if that I paid $50k and that's all I got, really really pissed.

I'd also be pretty proud if came out of normal guy's garage or my garage, but not a professional shop and not at that price tag.
