I'm with you guys! I'm all about hot-rodding on a budget. I have to be, with a mortgage and a baby. My car isn't the quickest or best-looking ride on the planet, but my friend Jim and I built the whole damn thing, and I know it inside and out. Tim saw my '88 SS at the track on Saturday. The whole car was put together in my driveway, on jackstands and without air tools; engine install, wiring, fuel lines, 5-speed conversion, complete front suspension overhaul (front and rear), exhaust, the works. If one of those $100K showcars broke down, the owners wouldn't have the first clue how to fix it. The only thing they know is how to drive it on and off their silly trailers.
