the impersonator series was fairly affordable. certainly not 5k.

i get the point, but i still like to watch the shows for their entertainment value. i know i'll most likely never have the rolling bucks needed for one of those cars, so it's pure fantasy for me. it's all about the ratings.

and most of those shows get the parts donated for special "promotional coverage" of the names of the companies donating said products. if you could get some of those companies interested in a grassroots effort, i am sure you could come close to putting a whole car together for less than 10k - that's about as low budget as you can get. i am sure most of us, without thinking about it or referring back to our shoebox full of receipts, have spent that much (price of car included).
