Yep, being sarcastic.
I was pointing out that GM has taken a trim level and turned it into a model 3 times already, maybe even more. It's not that big a travesty as everybody makes it out to be. Been done before. Yeah, "SS" carries more weight than "GTO", "Malibu" and "Nova", but all the names are iconic in their own right.
I personally feel that a RWD V8 Chevrolet deserves the SS moniker, and if it's as its full name then so be it.
I feel that the real travesty is throwing the SS badge on FWD econoboxes and non-V8 trucks.
Case in point:
Yes, they named this "SS"
With its RWD 400hp V8.
In my opinion it deserves it as a "full name" better than this did as a "trim level":
With 180hp of pure V6 fury and a body kit.
