It didn't in my case with Insul-X on the floor. I've made a ton of sparks and haven't messed it up.
To be honest the worst spots were where hot truck tires were turned in place
. The floor is not perfect but it's much better than bare concrete or sealer.
For a show garage I'd do vinyl tile again
