The complex was sold 10 or 11 months ago, right after we moved in. Quality has went down in regards to maintenance and upkeep. Online the advertised rent rates are still higher than what the increase would be, so yes, I don't doubt they are trying to get people out of the older, non-updated apartments, so they can renovate and charge more. I'm going to the office in a few minutes and seeing their reason for the late renewal. The staff has been changed out at least twice since we moved in due to no one doing their job. I'm only just hoping that they will allow me to pay the original rent amount for the next 3 months, and then whatever.

I'm just having a tough time paying rent which is more than a mortgage would be. But with me still in school and my wife not making 100K+, getting approved for a house in this area is impossible. I think we may agree to another year here and then I'll try to see what my VA home loan and my wife's job could qualify us for, then I'll beg borrow or steal the rest, lol.
