Jim, no I didn't think I was the first person to come up with the idea, but I didn't think it would catch it at that speed... maybe at 80, or 90, or 100, but at 120 I am impressed (and in hindsight, yes I actually did know that EZ Pass was made by an outside contractor).
Tim, I tried it again at the same speed with the EZ Pass in place on the windshield, and it didn't work then, so I don't know what the speedcap is on the express system... would be good info. to know though.
Talking Goat, I did this at 3 in the morning when there were no cars around. I wouldn't have done it if there was any traffic. Not that that time of day makes it any more safe, but it's not like I'm doing 120 mph over the Driscoll Bridge at 9 in the morning during rush hour, you know?
TransAm4Life, the fine is only the cost of the toll and a $25 administrative fee, which is waived if you dispute the fine. One of the dispute reasons is that you are an actual EZ Pass customer, so you send the form in with your EZ Pass info, and they only charge your EZ Pass account the toll, and not the fine.
