I had a hard time getting the housings apart since I couldnt find ones with poly lenses, the glass kept chipping as I pried it off the back. It isn't great looking, but since they never get seen, basically, it isn't a big deal. I just like being able to see at night when I drive. I do need to warranty my ballasts though, when it is cold they don't always want to light, I have to re-strike several times to get them to come on |
Ahh yea the matchbox projectors would work. I know you were referring to the firebird but I didn't know if they have more room than the 4th gens. Probably the same.
The glass lens housings are tricky to open without cracking. Regarding the ballasts, it sounds like you have the set which were prone to cold weather firing issues. I wouldn't wait to get them covered under warranty so best to submit soon. The new ballasts they use appear to be rock solid so far.
