Figured as much with the ground. The shifter plate itself a good enough thing to ground it to? Same for the shifter wiring.

I dont recall any of my cars having a center console light, but then again if they did it prob just was broken.

Also, seat belt buckle has a wire off it. Assuming this is only for either a warning light or a chime. Since car will eventually have harness instead of normal belts, is snipping the connector and connecting the 2 wires together acceptable here ?
