Out of all of the racing games I've played this one is one if not the best. It's graphics are okay but what really gives it an edge is the progressive throttle and braking forces. Smooth in, smooth out. It doesn't get any more realistic without going to a pedal/wheel setup. Even those kind of suck because you can't jerk them fast enough without ripping them off the table!
Anything with "digital" throttle and braking (even 2 step pressure sensative buttons) is history, the xbox controls will get you hooked.
I also liked the graphics in sega GT, very fun game with "mods" that weren't ricer crap. No damn graphics and spoilers, just plain performance 8) .
As for NFSU, I haven't even looked at it nore do I relly plan too if it's got digital controls. I still play NFS Porsche Unleashed on my laptop, great cars and awesome physics.
