Put a total of 218 miles on the car during Saturday and Sunday and wish I could have done even more.

Headed out early Saturday morning to drive to the meet-up spot in the Bronx. IT was light rain, and surprisingly a bunch of traffic even well before the GW bridge. Car did just fine, even though I was uneasy with all the hecticity and traffic (I'm not a city person). It rained most of the time at the meet-up spot (Orchard Beach, Bronx NY). Had a good turnout of 3rd gens, but I learned some did not make it as planned. They hungout for a while there, took some photos. I had a wedding to be back at BY 1pm, so I knew I could not attend the whole long cruise with the group. Once they headed out towards the 2nd meet-up spot, I jetted off and took the Mario Cuomo bridge home. Tons of traffic at times, got stuck behind a funeral escort where the troopers shut down the highway and rolled at 20 mph for 3+ miles. On route 80 there was a wreck and NJSP helicopters landed too and shut the whole highway down. Yeeesh. Ended up getting to the wedding 2 minutes late, but all went well. Some photos of the entire event/group can be found on the NYTHIRDGEN facebook page.

The only time I think I might have ever been on this bridge to NYC was probably an elementary school field trip on a school bus, so this was a weird moment for me. I could probably play back the dashcam footage/audio and I know I would be saying Oh F, what the hell is going on, what the hell am I doing" !

Car show in Linden was good. I think 650-700 cars attended. Multiple parking lots were filled. Judging was a joke, as most of the many trophy's went to members of a local car club all wearing the same club jacket and acting like big-shots all day long, later high-fiving each other and holding up their trophy’s like rocky balboa winning the title. Weird The judge who did my row of cars spent maybe 11-12 seconds at my car, and despite the judges sheet asking for scores of the entire areas of the car, he just walked up, grabbed the sheet from my dashboard, and walked past the front of the car, put the sheet on his clipboard and walked to the next car doing the same thing...all the way up the row.. never even putting a pen to paper, never looking inside or around the cars. Odd. Aside from that, there was indeed some good cars but I didn't spend much time taking hundreds of photos. Drove home without an issue and had some fun little highway races with strangers. Stopped by Bruce's speed shop today and got the nitrous bottle filled up since I had not filled it after racing a few weeks ago and also used some nitrous up on the street since then too.

Another 1987 red Iroc was there also:
