I think it's due to the delay in running some database queries. We are popping off some of the huge threads to see if that's it.
3 word game is bad because it's a lot of replies per 'page' in the db.
If you are editing/replying/loading a thread that has external links in it (to videos, images, etc) then that could be it too. Load time will be
'boa speed +
external data 1 +
external data 2 + ... +
external data n which can be pretty sizable. Which is why NWJP takes forever.
Guys with external images in their sig slow down every thread they post in.
All of this is compounded.
