I'm looking into it and it is a bit pricey, something to consider about the GM crate engines are they are pre-86 style blocks, 2 piece rear seals and you need to modify newer intake manifolds to go on it if you want to keep the stock injection style. Not a big deal but something to think about. Stay away from the 340 kit, it requires alot of block clearancing. The 335 kit also needs clearancing but not as much. Personally I would look for a 87 and newer 350 truck block or engine on Ebay or something and tear it down. You can get a whole motor for about $500. I am only considering a 335 because I have access to alot of the tools to do my own machinework, I wouldn't suggest it over a 350 for cost effectiveness but it would be cool to have!
