T56 will be your most drastic difference-maker. If you're starting to get bored of the car, then you should do that swap next.
Cost ceiling is in your own control (based on what components you decide to purchase), but figure 2k will get you in the door.
Trans > headers > suspension > wheels. That's how I think you should order them
