Spools really are not bad on the street at all, most of the people who say that you can't drive them on the street have never actually driven them on the street. If you're not looking to rip through every turn and you know you're not going to autox/road race just get a spool and never look back.

No issues with mine, I love it. Drives like stock around town, acts like a spool when locked up. I followed the break in instructions and fluid recommendations to a "t" tho.
