I actually just went about rebuilding my 4l60e because of a burnt 34 clutch pack. If you feel up to it, it's really not that bad. Overall, I'd say I had close to 80 hours into the build, but I was really taking my time and had to retrace my steps a few times. I built my trans to be between a level 1 and 2 performabuilt unit(It cost just around $700 total including fluids) Also, trutechtrans.com and transmissionpartsusa.com are great sources for parts. There is also a video series that I followed to do my build, it is very detailed and it was basically the only thing I followed for my rebuild. The video series is here:

I'm sure Adam will give you a great deal on the trans, but you may decide to rebuild the one you blew up.
