In theory, you could crawl back there and do one or multiple of the following:
  • take a pick or screwdriver to the latch mechanism to release the hatch.
  • unbolt the latch from the rear panel of the car
  • assuming the plastic trim on the underside of the hatch is already removed, unbolt the latch from the hatch side
  • assuming the headliner is off, unbolt the 4 studs that go into the roof of the car, where the hatch and sail panel meet.

However expectations should be kept in check; You're fairly robust.
