If you really wanted to make 1000 HP, it'd be easier to have a big inch gen 1 small block with a procharger. you'd save some weight and the intake plumbing would be a lot simpler. Just my opinion though

maybe so, but i'd rather go for the uniqueness factor. not everyday you see a huge big-block stuffed into a 4th gen. or a turbo'd big block, for that matter.
the reason i choose the Hogan intake is for hood clearance. the top-mount setup will cause problems unless i have a cowl hood, which i don't want.
the 2000 ZL1 was "advertised" as having a 572ci engine. However, it was later revealed that the engine was larger than that, at the very least 582ci but probably more. This was brought to light at Car and Driver's shootout between the ZL1 and Ford's Boss Mustang, built specifically to take on the ZL1.
