1968 Firebird Repair and Repaint

Ok guys here's some shots of the latest F-body to leave the shop. It was a 1968 Firebird that had been at 2 other shops over the last 8 years and both had basically done the customer dirty. One guy basically closed up shop after collecting a bunch of money and the other did absolutely terrible metal repair work.

That being said the customer was on a pretty tight budget after the last two incidents so after looking over the previous work we decided to leave the new quarter panels on but replace most of the other patches that were in the wheels wells, rockers, and even had to cut out a brand new floor pan that was installed incorrectly. We agreed to leave the previous bodywork in as well, which meant less money on the customers part but no warranty on mine. I also repaired his front subframe mounts and the process can be seen in the July issue of Auto Restorer Magazine.

Below are pics of the car before, during, and after. To save some more money the customer opted to refinish the subframe and reinstall all the front sheet metal himself after the job is done. Not my first choice as I'm extremely worried about the paint while he hangs the fenders and hood.
