So Saturday was an interesting day.

The drive to my buddies shop is about 30 miles from my house, so I was already so scare about the journey. But the car handled the ride down the turnpike pretty well. It does get a bit rowdy on really crowned areas and really bumpy areas. I think the 275s upfront with no power steering is to blame.

Got the car all strapped up and ready to rock. Tuner did some part throttle pulls the first few mins the car was on the rollers. I guess to not only make sure it was strapped good, but to feel it out and make any small changes.

After that, the real pulls started. First pull was 413rwph. First pull when super smooth.

Tuner made some changes, turned car off and then started her back up to do another pull. When he got on it(a high stall car on a dyno is ****ing weird btw) a puff of black came out the exhaust. Pull aborted and car was let to idle. Checked everything out to make sure nothing was funky under the hood. All good. Listened for any odd noises, nothing to be found. Revved up the car again, no smoke at all. So we got back at. Did another pull, 419hp

Also noticed, the car doesn’t like to start when its hot. The starter struggles to turn the motor over. Does fire every time, but deff cranks slow a second or 2 before it fires up.

Made some more changes quickly and fired it back up. No smoke during the pull this time, 422hp.

Turned the car off and went to make changes then do another pull, but was interrupted by a walk in customer looking to schedule some dyno time. My tuner and the walk in customer hashed out some details, went over the car, went for a quick ride in it to see the issue and then scheduled a date. All in all, about 40 minutes total of my car sitting again between starts.

Started up and was idling fine, started to get into the gas and do a pull and there was a bit of smoke, nothing major, continued with pull. Soon as he stepped on it a large plume of black smoke came out and continued to smoke a bit for the full rpm band. That pull made 428hp. Youll see in the vids.

There was nothing in HP tuners that we were able to see that the smoke could be. Not a thing changed. Without shutting the car off, did another pull. Zero smoke at all, 428hp. Shut the car down and made a change or 2, started back up after a few minutes. Small plume of smoke on the pull, 428hp again.

Did a few more changes to try to get some moar pah but the graphs were literally just laying over each other at the 424-428 mark.

Took the car off the rollers and went to make some test runs to finalize shifting and everything, but the combo of a light rain for a few mins and absolutely garbage Toyo drag radials left us with no change of getting some solid test hits. Before going out on the road, I gave the car a quick rev and a small amount of smoke came out. The car never smoked again on the whole ride.

As far as the smoke goes, im assuming it is a crap valve stem seal due to it only smoking after the car sits for a bit and once it starts and sees some RPM it never smokes again. But who knows, any input?

Also I may be looking at either a bent rim or a bent axle. You were able to see it with your naked eye, a little bit of a funk while it was on the rollers. And you can certainly feel it once it gets up above 100. Im going to throw the Hoosiers on and throw the car on jack stands and see if I can see the hop In the wheel. Really hoping its just a bent wheel and I don’t need to put a rear in the car any earlier than I anticipate(which is Nov 13th)

Car also left a small puddle of trans fluid on the ground at the dyno. About a 6" diameter puddle. Looked to be right around were the taillight would be.
