So a piece of crap kicked my ass last night.
Down on 37. I dont know what it was. It was red and rusty. and had a (not too large) but aftermarket tip on it. And he had an exhaust leak. F8L thnks it was a Centrua (sp?). I think it was turbo-ed.
Either way i blame it on my tranny. I floor it at 2000 RPMs and what does it do? Rather than downshift into 2nd, it decides "You know what Mike, Im not gonna down shift, but rather have all this extra fuel and air come into me anyways and still run it up from 2k"

If it was an SE-R I wouldn't be surorised. they were pretty quick for a *****-box. I've seen some turn 14's with bolt ons.

That was me you raced. Yes my car is a POS, I'll be the first to admit it, it has a good amount of things that need to be worked out with it. I've actually been wanting to sell it and buy an LS1 Trans Am for a while now, I just need to get some money together for a down payment on one. I have actually been browsing LS1.com and here for a while now (I just havent signed up here since there wasnt a reason yet), just trying to get a little knowledge on the cars.
The car is a 93 Sentra SE-R, it has an SR20DE motor in it (it also is the original motor and trans with over 160k on the odo). The car is not turbo, although it would be nice if it was. It isnt stock, but it isnt heavily modded, just normal bolt-ons. It has a header, high flow cat., a crappy pacesetter exhaust that I truely hate but it was what I could afford at the time and I had to pass inspection, it has intake, a performance pressure plate, and some urethane motor mounts. The car weighs about 2500lbs stock (without a driver) and should be capable of really high 14's to really low 15's with how its setup now, its slow and I know it.
That exhaust leak is caused by a leaky flex pipe, which really attracts too much attention to me, even though I try to be quiet. The car is not rusty, its just extremely dirty since it hasnt been washed since last summer.
I normally dont race, I get very picky about where I am and what the conditions are, I just like to drive so I usually cruise 37 to see whats out and hang out with a few friends. However I was very curious to see how I'd do against a 3rd gen F-body. I had a feeling that you didnt downshift on that run, but I was more surprised that you shut it down so quickly. I was in 2nd gear winding it out waiting for you to go and when I hit 3rd it seemed like you shut down already. If you would like another run let me know.

Thanks for the name calling. And to provide an answer to your other post, no the big chrome tip doesnt count as a mod. Like I said in my previous post, its a pacesetter exhaust, it was cheap and that was all I could afford at that time and I really had to pass inspection.
