Question What do I do?

Dont know where to put this...

But I borrowed a engine hoist from chrisfromnj and an engine stand from hardline42. I appreciate their kindness, but the engine hoists arm only goes out to a certain length, and with the certain length the engine stand hits into the bottom of the hoist.

How can I get this to work? Im trying to get this done asap. So I can get my car running, and in tip top shape. is there any way, I can do the cam install on the ground, and then flip the motor over and do the oil system and when i put the pan on carefully flip it back over on a tire?

I said Im in a rush, but I still have to paint my engine bay again, and I dont want to do anything that will harm my motor, Plus I have NO IDEA how to do the oil system..

edit, when I form a plan, what bolts do I use to bolt up the engine to the stand?

take the mounting plate out of the stand, attach it to the motor, have a couple people assist in sliding the motor and mounting plate back into the stand.....

take the bolt that is the proper thread to home depot and get a nice set of grade 8 bolts that are the correct length......and pick up some washers to use as spacers.

Yeah, you need to get your own bolts. And sounds like you need a couple of people to help swing the motor over to the stand to get it bolted up. I was able to do everything myself because I'm stubborn and find a way.

i bought 4 4 inch long bolts 12 washers, and I mounted the plate, next I picked up the engine stand and put it on the plate and locked it on, then i got peices of wood to put under the middle of the stand, I lowered the engine/engine stand, and it stayed. I jacked it up with a small jack, and then used a peice of wood to pry the stand up and the stand moved back, and went on the ground perfect.

I'm glad you got it. It's really is not that hard. It may be alittle daunting the first time you do it but, after you do it a couple of times it is a piece of cake.
