Anyone wash their car in the rain?
I discovered years ago during a drout that if when I get home and I happen to know the rain will stop at night and the next day will be nice i sometimes throw a little soap on my hood and roof and lather the whole car up with a mit and the rain washes all the dirt away laeving no water marks. Takes 2-3 min and comes out just as good as a typical wash where you spend twice as long drying ot off to eliminate water spots left behind from hard water that comes out of you hose. Thing is, my neibhors have been looking at me like Ive lost it... please tell me im not the only one that does this.

Yup, I've done it before.
Nothing wrong with it

Yup, it's a lot easier to wash in the rain because you can't do anthing about dry spots until the rain stops. But I'll also pull it into the garage and dry it sometimes if the next day is a show, cruise or meet. If you keep the car clean, you can do an easy touch up with 2 buckets and a minimal amount of soapy water and rinse water and go panel by panel.

I haven't tried it yet, I just got a decent water proof car cover for Christmas, so I just washed and waxed it before I threw the cover over it.
Washing cars on a nice day is a good stress reliever for me.

I do this quite a few times, especially during drought weather and washing isn't allowed. I usually go ahead and rinse it with a hose though anyway to make sure all the soap gets rinsed off but once the rain stops the car dries nicely.

I normally use a walter filtration system so i dont need to worry bout spotting as im drying in hot weather... i cant wash in the rain though theres a lot of dust etc. from all the fields in my area so the car gets wet and dust gets on it and dries.. but all my cars are garaged except the subie (and for now the 92) so it doesnt matter anyway
