Crank sensor question

So I changed out my starter and now it cranks and cranks but wolnt start, I did disconnect the crank sensor and move the wires out of my way. I reconnected the batt and attempted to start the car w/o the crank sensor connected then I realized what I did and quickly plugged the sensor back in w/ the batt connected. Did I fry the sensor doing that?? I think I did.

I do not think that would damage a sensor. You may have damaged the leads. I'm not really sure what might happen if that is unplugged and you crank it, perhaps it flooded it? Just guessing on that.

Fixed it wires for crank sensor were laying on the headder and burnt thru, cut out the bad parts re-routed, and wire tires them between the block and dipstick tube to keep it off the block and headers.
